Why are Pemrose different?
There are many "Cloud Computing" service providers. There are also many terms that are used to lossely describe what Pemrose offers. The original concept coined the term "Application Service Provider" (ASP), though this evolved into what is today known as "Sofware-as-a-Service" (SaaS). Pemrose, however, is offering much more than hosted web applications. The industry has taken advantage of technologies such as Virtualization to offer greater resilience to those hosting applications and this has seen an explosion in the use of SaaS.
The term Cloud Computing was used to describe a growing collection of complimentary technologies, including online storage and backup. When combined these "cloud" services still do not represent fully what Pemrose is delivering to its clients. The term Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) was coined that most closely describes the idea of outsourcing your IT infrastructure to a third party.
Yet still this does not describe what Pemrose offers since it does not address the delivery of software and applications like SaaS did, nor does it identify the benefits of availability, resilience and backup that cloud based storage of data offers clients. IaaS does not describe or include the delivery of both network and end-user hardware including switches, routers, wi-fi, desktop PCs, notebooks, netbooks, printers and more. And finally, IaaS does not include the provision of secure high speed connectivity between client sites or any telecommunications aspects such as Voice over IP (VoIP) or Fax over IP.
In truth, the solution that Pemrose delivers is completely unique in the marketplace. Whilst it most clearly resembles Cloud Computing or IaaS, it is in fact what we prefer to call ICTaaS - or Information-and-Communication-Technology-as-a-Service since it is a true turn-key solution with complete end-to-end delivery of all aspects of ICT.
Most importantly neither SaaS, IaaS nor Cloud Computing focus on the most important part of the equation. The end user. Because Pemrose have visibility and provide delivery from end-to-end that means that the Client and each individual end user is guaranteed a consistent experience.
