Consistent Data

As an Organization grows and complexity increases data becomes spread across disparate systems and storage presents a challenge. Many businesses face the challenge to provide consistent access to current up-to-date data between sites, territories and timezones. The challenge is to also provide a consistent end-user experience so that data can be read, interpretted and understood between sites.

A Pemrose Cloud Computing solution addresses all of these issues by delivering a consistent User-Centric experience, and by deploying advanced file system technologies to keep databases, applications, documents and files synchronous between sites in real-time. Click the headings below to expand the section and discover the ways in which data is kept consistent between locations.

Centralized Data Storage

Many businesses have evolved their IT networks and infrastructures to a point where data is stored on multiple servers in different locations. Finding files becomes a challenge when there are many storage locations to consider.

By centralizing storage and ensuring that the servers in the cloud maintain a copy of every file in the network as a starting point, the basis of a Distributed File System is born. In sites that have many users, or where bandwidth availability poses a challenge the cloud servers perform continuous synchronisation with Network Attached Storage devices at other sites. This ensures rapid response times in each site location, and by utilising differential file compression, only changes to a data are synchronised and not the entire database or document, making bandwidth use efficient and delivering faster performance.

Because all data and files exist in multiple locations with shadow copies available for up to 90 days, it is almost impossible to lose a file and even easier to recover a deleted one or even previous versions of the same file if accidental changes are saved.

Consistent User Experience

In an environment where IT systems have evolved over time, and upgrades have been made in a piece-meal approach, end-users often receive a different experience and have different expectations than their colleagues. In a trickle-down environment frustrations exist where hardware is purchased and versions of Operating Systems, Office software, applications and even update differences can cause incompatibility within an Organization itself. This effect tends to be multiplied where multiple sites or territories are involved, or where documents and data are relayed to other Organizations or contractors.

In a change managed environment the experience is consistent irrespective of device. Hardware, software versioning and performance are consistent. In situations where alternative devices are used that are not managed as part of the subscription, terminal services access can be provided, delivering the same desktop, file systems and applications experienced on included hardware when roaming or using alternative devices at home, at a Client's office, or on the road.
